The following cores have been placed on a deaccession list from the NSF-ICF inventory. Most of the cores are no longer continuous, and the top and bottom depths shown below are from the original drill logs and not necessarily a reflection of what currently remains in the archive. A funded proposal, and Sample Allocation Committee approval, is not needed to access cores on the deaccession list.
The deaccessed cores typically have poor dating and limited data available. Some of the cores were drilled a long time ago, and some cores do not have good core quality. Only cores of late-Holocene or younger age are available and there are no cores with basal silty sections on the deaccession list. We also don't have any deaccessed ice that is from the brittle zone or clathrate (i.e., ductile) zone. However, the deaccessed cores can be fantastic for method development.
